Floral Compression Marbles
I had the good fortune to attend John Kobuki's class at the J.W. Hull school of Glass Art in Orlando, FL. These floral compression marbles are the result of skills & techniques taught by John Kobuki. I am very grateful that he chooses to teach and share his knowledge with the glassworld....and I look forward to taking what i learned & developing my own personal style with it. For now though, I am posting these marbles as an example of the style that I learned in the class.

Seascape Marble for CSGA Flame Off 6/08
Runner up in the category of Best Inclusion, marble approximately 2" in diameter, reminiscent of the nighttime sky. A silver comet streaks across a deep blue starry background toward a glowing moon. Ocean waves appear to be crashing in the foreground and two sparkling opal includions nestle beneath the waves. The illusion of depth is amazing! An amber purple pinwheel desing completes the orb.

silver series marbles
It's amazing how many different colors can be achieved using only silver. With their ghostly translucence these marbles attempt to illustrate emotional states that I've never been able to put into words. From despair to hope to joy, I feel that this work revels in the beauty of that which is felt but cannot be spoken. I hope that you enjoy them.
